A Foreign Woman’s Faith

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness

Location: Edmonds Ferry Terminal

Ruth and Naomi experienced a lot of darkness in their lives. In Naomi’s gray and grim mood, the road of life seemed long and futile. And like many other people who experience loss and sadness, Naomi sought isolation. But Ruth would not leave her! And as they walked together, they walked towards the light. The light came on gradually… first there were each other’s love and companionship, then the generosity of Boaz and his men, and then of course Ruth’s marriage to Boaz. And the story doesn’t end there…only 2 generations later, David was born from the lineage of Boaz and Ruth!

In which aspects of our lives are we in a dark place? Where does our road seem long and futile, especially because we cannot see around the corner? And in those situations, what can we do to continue to walk towards the Light?
