As far as the east is from the west, so far has God removed our sins from us. Envision your sins being locked away in the cargo hold of one of these ships on their way to who knows where. God’s ships of forgiveness are infinite in capacity and number. We are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8). All we have to do is believe and accept His grace. He does not keep track of the cargo of these ships. Why do we?

As we have been sharing this series in the Psalms, we have been noting how the scriptures that shaped Jesus’ faith also impacted his teaching. Psalm 103:13 says, “As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord is compassionate toward those who fear him.” Imagine how Jesus teaches on this truth in the parable found in Luke 15:11-32. Imagine with us that the father saw the son coming down the road and ran to meet him because he had never taken his eyes off the road. Can you believe that no matter where you have ‘wandered,’ God’s eyes remain on you longing for a restoring embrace?
