Theme: Praise the Lord

Slide notes: Praise is different than gratitude. As an extended family, we discussed “praise” and came to a definition that combines “being vocal” with “not fully understanding how all the magic in and around us is happening, but being in awe of it.” It is like a bird flying: it is the most natural thing to do, birds may not understand the mathematics of lift and drag, and birds may not even realize that it is air they’re flying in. They’re just flying, and their squawk could very well mean: “Wow, how awesome is this?” So is God’s presence around us. And we are in awe of the beauty and blessing of creation.

Read Psalm 145. What verse or idea is the Spirit saying to you in this song of praise?

Questions for this week: How does everything you say reflect praise? Which things do you take for granted that you could be in awe of?
